Poem: Don’t Break the Ice, Kid
Hello starinsiders. I have had a great day today. A day with a fond one makes for a great day. This is the first of two poems today. Sorry, I had to do this so late. The second one is coming out later this evening. Why that one is written will tell you. This one is for those that have felt the push and pull of a friend. Enjoy :-)
Don’t Break the Ice, Kid
I know, I know.
You like figure skating.
It is one of your loves,
To feel special about what you do.
To feel special is one,
Everyone wants to feel like.
The ice is your friend.
A friend who is always there for you.
Even if the ice isn’t completely there,
The water is still there,
Everyone can’t look fabulous all the time.
But during winter season,
The season of your love-so to say-
It mist be your favorite time of the year together.
Ice is frozen 3 inches,
You won’t have to go the gym,
To skate anymore.
It is a wonderful time for you.
School stared 2 months ago.
School work and after school clubs
Get in the way of ice skating.
So you skate less and less.
After awhile,
You stop coming every week.
Every time you forget to water the ice
To make it smooth,
The ice begins to crack.
The credits make the perfect rink
Farther and farther away.
But you push and push.
If ice skating us your passion,
Remember the ice is always there,
The clubs only happening every other month.
Ice has been there all along.
Stop pushing it away,
Don’t break the ice.
