VSW: A Cold Wind by KRAM

Hey starinsiders! How has it been? I have been so busy. I really can’t wait til marching season is over so I can have nights filled with sleep. I like sleep. Everyone on tumblr does, right? Here is more viewer submitted work by KRAM. I really want to  get his name so I can give him more credit. I wonder if he reads my blog often. Here you go enjoy!

A Cold Wind

A little faith
A moment of endurance
A clinging to sinew that holds you together
When the cold wind turns against you

A fear
A shaken heart
A feeling that deeper hurt is near
When it numbs and closes in around you

A blink
A furthering exhale
A heartbeat followed by another and another
It is just the wind that you feel

Poem: Connecting the Dots

Hey starinsiders. I am tired. I am crammed with homework so I might not me as dilajent with the Dry Run Poems for awhile. This one I wrote at school in my Marketing Class. I am really bored in the class most of the time. Sorry school education. I am really bored with you. Enjoy this poem.

Connecting the Dots

When I look at one of those puzzles,
The ones cluttered with dots on the page,
I always wonder what the picture will make.

Will the picture come out clear?
Will it be what I want?
Will it be me?

One of the dots is marriage.
Another one is retirement.
There was one that was my first kiss.
I haven’t found all the dots yet,
But they are ahead of me.

Now the line,
That is hard to find.
It isn’t like the yellow brick road,
It is more like the two roads diverged in a yellow wood.
They never stop appearing,
The choices outnumber the reasons.

I am a kid.
Finding and knowing that this is the right choice,
Is a do-able challenge.

Yes, I have found some of my dots.
Yes, I have found a path for me right now.
Yes, I have no idea what I am doing and what I want to do.

But there is one thing,
One thing that is key.

I keep looking.
Keep looking for the next dot.
The next path that I will travel on,
I am looking for that.
I will keep looking.
Keep looking.

Poem: A Path Yet Chosen

Ello, starinsiders. I honestly am having a life where it is nothing but homework, sleep, school, homework, sleep, school, marching, sleep. And nothing else, is anyone else super tired of school, but it just begin. I know I am. Well, enjoy this poem I wrote for a teacher who wasn’t exactly on subject but gave some inspiring thinking words. Here’s to you! Enjoy. :-)

A Path Yet Chosen

A favorite poet of mine
Talked about “the road less traveled”
And I often wondered
What he fully meant.
The true meaning,
Wondered in the
Many days of middle school.

Back in eighth grade,
I carried this poem
And memorized it
Because I wanted to remember it.
It had meaning I yet couldn’t understand.
But here I am today,
Thinking about it again.

It might be about the choices we make,
Affect ourselves.
They could also effect others,
But we should care mostly
What’s true to you.
Not pick something that isn’t you,
Is like picking
A new body to wear.
Why be hard on yourself?

But what about the path
You can’t choose?
What if you don’t want it,
But you have to take it.
What if someone you love
Picks the wrong thing & you know it;
Can you make them change it?

I do believe,
That people take the road less traveled,
Because it is different for every person.
Whether it’s community college or
Harvard.
It might be hard for them.

We come across the road less traveled,
And we wander
Now or later, now or letter.
Maybe you see now is easy but
Not as good in the end?

Do you pick now or later?
It’s not my decision for you.
What will you pick;
Now or later?

Poem: Sleep, Lady and Gent

Hello, starinsiders. How is school treating you? It is kicking my butt. I will have no free time in awhile. Sorry, about the poems coming up then. Take that as an apology in advance. Here, is a poem I wrote in the middle of the night. It was a good night. :-) Enjoy.

Sleep, Lady and Gent

Sleep, lady and gent,
Sleep.
Your worry is not needed,
For your question has
Been answered clear.

Sleep has alluded you.
For sleep, has put your
Conscious mind out of wonder.
If the conscious mind thinks
Too hard before sleep,
Wonder could seep through
To the unconscious slumber.
But sleep
It’s only dream.

Sleep, lady and gent,
Your answer awakes you.
When you wake,
The question determining
Your fate,
Is answered
As soon as you wake.

Poem: An Always Moving Picture

Hey people, this was an idea that come to my as I watched tv. Sometimes you get your best ideas from doing something unproductive. Here it is, enjoy! I tried to rhyme every other stanza, I am working on it.

An Always Moving Picture

When watching a movie
You have been dying to see,
You really don’t want
To leave in the middle and
Miss an important part.

I’ve been a kid, right!
And something new happens
Every time the light
Hits the concave of the lens.
Being a kid, everything is new.

I’m at the age of maturity well,
Wondering where the youth went,
And wondering if I missed
Anything important
That can only be done as a child.

I have felt all those feelings,
But there is one I have not.
It’s the feeling of being
A parent, not a tot.
An adult in charge
Of a new life.

Knowing parents
Don’t give me an edge
Of feeling the way parents do.
But if I can relate being
A parent to watching a movie-
That’s it! It is an interactive movie.

Then if I am a parent,
Watching the story of my child’s life,
If I were to become transparent
Or have a wild night life,
I would miss my child grow up.

When I’m a parent one day,
I won’t watch my child’s life pass by.
I will stand at every game,
And clap at every play.
Above all I won’t have to say,
Don’t grow up without me.

Poem: Adding to a Pile of Rocks

Heyo, starinsiders. How’s it been, guys? Here is an older poem I wrote awhile ago. I did write this for a substitute who I had the privilege to hear his story about his son. Well, this to the people who had/have a tough decision to make/made. I also have some hard ones to figure out in the future. Here, enjoy. :-)

Adding to a Pile of Rocks

Picking a piece of pie,
Could be easy.
Favoritism makes it
An easy choice.

While picking property
Could be hard.
The questions haunting
Your decisions and ideas.
Will this not be good?
Will there be a rude, creepy neighbor?
Will this be the right choice?

Luckily,
There is a lot of choices
That we have;
Shoes we are going to wear,
Places to go,
People to see.

Some choices,
Don’t involve much thought.
Well, because some don’t big reactions,
Like picking a different color straw.
It won’t change
The flavor of the drink
So those choices
Are easy to make.

But others could end in disaster,
Like picking the wrong house
Or picking a cool car
With no gas.
Or something less physical like
Saying “Yes” or “No,”
After the question, “Will you marry me?”

Some are big
And some are small.
Some you’ll see
While some just add to the scenery.
They all add up,
Even as small as
Making your favorite color change,
Or as big as
Finding a home to start a family.
Honestly,
Follow your heart,
And the answer comes naturally.

Dry Run Poems; 1: Awaken Far From Belonging

Hey, starinsiders. I have been on a family reunion so I haven’t had much time for writing. Also homework for AP has been bugging me also. So I decided that maybe once a month or so I write a poem or something as a free write. These will be called Dry Run Poems ( DR Poems for short ). You will be able to find under Poems & Others. These might end well, but also might be bad. It is worth a try. So, enjoy!

Awaken Far From Belonging

If I awoke
On different planet,
All alone
What would happen?
What would I feel?

Would the place be different
From the place I remember?
Or even that,
Will I remember
The place I once was?

What if I didn’t?
I would feel different,
But not know why.

I would be the only-
Well, me.
One of a kind,
No other peas in the pod.

There probably will be
Other people,
Or other species.
Hopefully,
They will see I am harmless.
They would accept me.

But should I feel like one of them?
Would I feel comforted?
No, probably a little,
Until I realize
I am not one of them.

I would be lonely,
Very lonely.
But would I get out of it?
Eventually.

I will learn
To live with the loneliness.
Learn,
Learn to adapt to new places
New people,
And new situations.

Poem: The Old Man Under the Moon

Hey starinsiders or people whoever reads this. How is your summer been? It is going by so fast, it is not even funny. Well, it is August now and my summer is ending in a little less than a month (if you count band camp as no summer). Here is a poem talking about a Chinese legend of an old man under the moon. He tells people who they are going to marry, and this poem is what I might say to him.  Enjoy. :)    Remember to reblog, like and follow, it really means a lot to me. Thanks.

The Old Man Under the Moon

Do I talk to you,
The man under the moon?
Are you the one
Who knows
My future partner?

You are!
Well, I finally found you.
How is that book?
It looks old and ragged.
Looks like
It has been read
By no one but you.
Well, that’s too bad for them.

How are you?
I bet people don’t ask you
That very much.
I am sorry for that.

Do you get a lot of questions
About future partners?
I bet you do.
Do you enjoy that?
Probably not
As much as you used to.

Oh-Don’t.
You don’t have to
Point out my future husband.
Shocker, right!
I don’t want to know yet.

You look at me with different eyes.
I believe that one day
I will find him.
The wait will be long, probably,
But it will be worth it.

That is why that walk to find you is hard.
The nod, yes.
It was nice to meet you-
Wait, you ask why I came.
Well, the day was nice.
You sit all alone,
Since people come,
Get what they want then leave.
You could say
It was instinct.
